Hidden gem
We only stayed for one night the room was clean and very Victorian, bathroom was big and spacious the location was great close to the ferry very nice view from the room we stayed in

Great Stay
We stayed at the Marathon during a baseball tournament. The accommodations were FANTASTIC! The rooms were clean and well equipped, beds were comfortable and the hosts were amazing. Highly recommended. As a side note, the older house brought back memories of staying at my grandfather’s when I was a kid. Highly recommended!!

A timecapsule
Had a good stay at the Marathon. The owners are super nice!. The room was exceptionally clean and everything worked. I would mention that this is a very old structure. The floors are a little slanted as well as then porches. If you expect brand new this would not be for you. The owners are working hard to maintain and fix it up but it is a work in progress. I would suggest more attention to the yard and gardens for the owners to work on but I understand the interior would be more of a priority. Our room was huge with 2 beds in separate rooms. However the bathroom and sink are slightly separated. Not a big issue but may surprise other people. If you want to stay in hotel that feels right out of the 1900's you will love this place! If you want concrete and brand new this is not for you. I would stay here again. Thank you for having us. Paul

LOVED our stay at the Marathon
Fabulous !!! I used to work as a waitress at the Marathon and enjoyed a lot of time there as a teen. It holds a place in my heart ❤ I was thrilled to finally stay at the Marathon as a guest. Our room was spotless, and fully equipped to meet our needs. We loved our double room which included free wifi, TV w/ Netflix etc., full newly renovated bathroom (very clean) with plenty of hot water, clean linens & towels (very soft), hairdryer, lots of pillows and extra blankets, Our beds were very comfy, we slept really well, it was quiet, clean. There is a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, tables, toaster, etc. for guests to use anytime. Also a gathering room with books, games, piano, etc. all for guests to use. lovely covered veranda and lounging furniture throughout,..Highly recommend !!

This is a very belated review; but I would be doing a disservice to the proprietor not to express my appreciation for our stay. This is a very unique and special hotel that is probably not for everyone. If you like predictable, bland, chain motels/hotels the Grand Marathon might not be for you. For example, I might not send my elderly parents here. But if you like to explore and be treated like family and are happy to go with the flow a little bit, this is the place for you. Our room was large, clean, nicely furnished with antiques and brand new towels, duvet, etc. New bar fridge and tv with satellite. Internet/wifi was fine. Would love to return to Grand Manan and the Grand Marathon Hotel. Great pizza and information about the Island next door at the old Post Office.

Love travelling in the off season. Love to find out how people live their lives out there, to discover all the nooks and crannies to places. It is quieter, less rushed too. The Marathon is a place given to embracing the style,comfort and quality of another era. Meeting the hosts who extended themselves to be an important part of a charming stay. Thank you.

loved our stay
We stayed at the Inn in July 1019. The hosts were so nice and helpful.I can't say enough about how helpful,gracious and pleasant they were during our stay. We loved the view of the harbor from our room and the meals were great. We can't wait to visit again.

Friendly, pleasant and relaxing place to stay
Very pleasant and friendly service, nice relaxing place to stay. Located just pass the ferry terminal with ample parking. Rooms were spacious and homey feeling. Design inside the place is outstanding with warm feelings. Cozy time we had with staff having good knowledge of things to do on the island. Breakfasts were delicious, so no need to leave for it. Definatley recommend and will stay again.

Clean. Bright. Ocean view. Hospitality is a 100%. Our breakfast was delicious. My 11 year old daughter and I loved that it felt like we were part of an old movie in this vintage-style Inn.

October stay
I stayed here for a night in October. The owners were really welcoming and had dinner ready by the time I arrived back to the inn. They also accommodated my early breakfast request. Clean rooms, pleasant stay! Thank you!
